Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri is located in Pulaski County. The town was named in honor of Major General Leonard Wood who was awarded the Medal of Honor. Fort Leonard Wood’s Ozark Mountain location allows for field training in the rugged landscape. Fort Leonard Wood is home to the 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade and the 5th Engineer Battalion. Many of the Fort Leonard Wood families live in nearby Waynesville, and many students at the Waynesville R-VI Public School are from Fort Leonard Wood families.
