On January 3, 2014, a Purdin, Missouri woman was seriously injured in a head-on car crash near Milan, Missouri. She was a passenger in the vehicle at the time. After several weeks in the hospital, the plaintiff’s leg was amputated at the knee.
The defendants were covered under 2 different policies of insurance. One of the policies was a commercial combined single limit or CSL. The other policy covered the driver individually.
After several months of litigation, both insures agreed to tender the remaining policy limits. One of the insurers agreed to tender $100,000 more than the initial $50,000 claimed.
